Doll – Elly

If you read this blog entry here, you’ll see a piece of digital art I created back in 2006. In that entry I talked about Elly. Who is Elly? o_O? Hmm, well before there was Caydi or Cayla there was Elly! All these names are starting to confuse me. Haha! Anyway, I’m very thrilled to share with you all Elly. That’s right, I made her into a real doll!

Here’s what she looked like on paper. ūüôā

And here she is, ready to wish you a Merry Christmas.

I started working on Elly during Summer but with other personal life goals I set her aside and just recently pulled her out. When I saw her, I knew I couldn’t leave her unfinished. I have too many unfinished projects ¬†and I didn’t want her to be one of them. ¬†I hope you like her.

My doll making process has been difficult, I keep trying to find better ways and techniques to do things but I think I got a pretty good start so far. ūüôā All my dolls that I’ve made, they sure put a smile on my face. I hope you like them. Have a wonderful night.

In 2006 I¬†created and designed a little “doll”. It was actually just a digital piece of artwork but I wanted to share it on here. I’m sharing it because at the time when I made it I was so¬†excited just to make it.¬†That’s how I feel about my sewing right now. It’s exciting! My doll probably¬†took me a whole month to make. I¬†drew it,¬†vectored it, painted it and repeated the cycle over and over again.¬†After working on it for so long, one day I felt I had¬†absolutely nothing else I could do for it, and I called her finished. I was so proud of myself. ūüôā Oh yes, and then I named her Elly and here she is. Isn’t she sweet?

Lately I started thinking about her again. To this day, I feel like she is my greatest accomplishment yet in artwork! =D I want my sewing to be the same. I want to keep pushing myself to see what I can make!
