Been a long time since I’ve used minky fabric for anything and so tonight I somehow managed to make this Hmong inspired pillow without planning anything. *Yay* I stuffed it so tight, this pillow probably weighs a ton! The Hubster said it would be deadly in a pillow fight. Lol. >=) Hope you like.
Caydi hasn’t decided on what she wants to dress up as for Halloween so I decided to dress her up with some shiny silvery glasses and bow. ^_^ I think she looks so nerdy. ❤
Before going any further I must say my images have not been top shape lately! I’m sorry! >.<
Moving on…for this month I decided to make a pillow of Caydi and Cubli together! Excuse Caydi for being neckless. ^o^ Lol.
Cubli is easily getting adjusted to Caydi. He’s been very playful and has discover a new angle to view the world, on top of Caydi’s head! Here they are.
I have also taken on a new adventure WordPressers, crocheting! Seeing all the beautiful crocheted items on fellow blogger’s pages made me want to try it out too. I’m learning slowly and viewing a lot of YouTube videos to help me. 🙂 I’ve been practicing with balls and turtles. It has been really enjoyable and I hope I can share some crochet projects in the future.
I’ve been enjoying my time making some minis of Caydi Cat.
Available for purchase at Etsy Shop.
For some reason our backyard has so many rabbits that they inspired me to create my own bunny design. WordPressers, I present to you Caydi Bunny plush!
I actually worked on these all day yesterday and some today. Took me quite a while…I was up to 3am just making these and I still wasn’t done. Well they are done now and I’m very please to share them! These Caydi Bunnies are approximately 5.5x2x4.5 inches and made from minky fabric with a bit of felt. I hope you like them! Find them at my Etsy shop for purchase.
I also now have mini 8×8 pillows of my Hmong Collection also listed at my Etsy shop.
Good night WordPressers!
Pillow number 4 of 6, Hello Kitty!!!! This pillow will be going across the country soon to reach a niece of mine. I hope she loves it!
I was a bit nervous about making Hello Kitty due to the fact that Hello Kitty is so popular and who doesn’t know her?! Any Hello Kitty fan can easily pick her out from the crowd and knowing this, I was afraid of making a mistake with her eyes and nose placement. The smallest misplacement could totally throw her off. Oh yeahhhh the stress was on. >=O However I think the final came out pretty good. I was very pleased with the finish pillow.
I had Google an image of Hello Kitty and used it as my layout. I used a combination of minky, velvet and felt fabric to finish the pillow. I also used my new Gingher scissor and serger that the Hubbie had got me this past week. The scissor is a bit heavy and uncomfortable but very sharp and good for corners. The serger as of now intimidates me because I’ve not learn how to thread it completely yet. O_O It will take some time. 🙂
Later on today I will be working on pillow 5. What do you think of the final pillow? 🙂
I wanted to finish all six pillows before posting them but I couldn’t resist after making these three! I have Keroppi, Landry and a nice cute whale! I hope the girls will love em!
Keroppi was the first one I made and I had a lot of fun making him. While sewing his orange shirt, I had a craving for a nice juicy orange! =D
The whale was next and quite a challenge even though it may not look it. There were other details I had in my original sketch but was unable to carry out! Regardless, I am very happy with the outcome.
Landry was my last pillow made. I was a little worry about Landry because I wasn’t sure if the fabric color I had would match it but I think it turned out pretty good.
Do you like them?
