Doll #27 Continue

Here’s a super quick clip of Doll #27. I’m very happy with her outcome. She looks so gentle and innocent! *LOL* Love it.

New Dolly and Pillow Update

This is a doll I’m working on from a new template I made earlier this week combined with some older doll templates I had. So far I think she looks good and I love her cat-like eyes. She’s a fresh breath of air after working on so many Hmong dolls! Haha. Yes, I admit that my Hmong dolls were burning me out! I have been working so hard on a few and I seriously can’t wait until they are done. They are like a tiny little army right now.  My goal is to get them done before the month ends. Hopefully I’ll also have this new doll design to the final stages soon too and then I can start making more of them for fun.

Last thing to mention, Hmongy Pillows will be available online again by March and have a wonderful Valentine’s day!

Take care!

Doll #8 and #9

I hope these photos look okay. It’s been a gloomy day and there just wasn’t enough light coming through the windows for the photos. =/ Anyway, look, Princess dolls! :O

I am sending these two dolls to my nieces in California. I feel kind of bad actually because I’ve been trying to make their dolls for awhile now. I made 3 previous dolls for them in the last hmmm…6 months? But I just wasn’t feeling the love for them so of course I had to start over. I am very happy with these though, otherwise I wouldn’t be sharing them. 😛 I think they look great but I can’t believe I forgot to put my tag on them for the photoshoot! Nuuu!  Enjoy.

Doll #6 and #7

I’m always happy to share my latest sewing projects but I’m super excited to share these two dolls here! I think they are beautiful, just gorgeous! I’ve started many dolls here and there since I’ve moved but these two are my first real finished ones. It’s been hard trying to get in the sewing mood but I really think these two came out great. They were specifically customized by a customer and I can’t wait for her to see them in person. When I look at them, I just can’t help but adore them. Hope you like them too!

Doll #3

The two previous dolls I shared and sold have names now! Crystal and Addison. The girls who received the dolls looked so happy and that was a great feeling being the creator!

I’ll be honest when I was younger, dolls never were my thing. I had these eerie feelings they would come alive and you know, run around with a knife in their hands. Haha. 😀 One year my oldest sister bought me a porcelain doll that played music, it was beautiful and I named her Juliet but deep down inside it freaked me out. I think I still have it and it might…be in the closet packed away? 😉 I’ll look one of these days to see if it is there. Anyway what I was saying was that I never thought I’d be sewing dolls since they freaked me out so much as a child. There is definitely a rewarding feeling I get when I make my dolls and I have come to appreciate the work and craftsmanship that is behind each handmade doll. Roughly estimating, one doll takes me about 12 hours to make if I do it non stop and skip meals completely! Whew, that’s a lot of time!

I started working on another doll shortly after Crystal and Addison. She is the same as the other two just with a few small difference in her clothing. I will be listing her at Etsy soon. Here she is. I wonder what her future owner will name her? For now she will be Caydi. 😉
